Business rewards strategy is just three questions: What do you spend on? Which products reward those categories best? And how do you redeem what you earn so it's actually worth something?
Step one — spend analysis — is where most owners stop. They guess at their top categories and pick a card based on a marketing page.
Step two — product fit — is where the real money lives. Category multipliers, signup bonuses, recurring perks (like cell phone insurance, primary rental coverage, or free employee cards) all stack into measurable value when matched correctly.
Step three — redemption — is where rewards get destroyed. Cash back is simple but often lower-yield than transfer partners or strategic travel redemptions if you already travel for work.
